MACHINE LAYOUT
WORKSTATION DESCRIPTION
1.1 Copper Terminal Load, Feed, Orientate, Sequence,Transfer, Separate, Center, Pick-Place
■ Full-custom vibratory feeder bowl with dual feeding tracks is introduced to load,feed, orientate, sequence copper terminals;
■ Linear vibration drive that drives full custom dual feeding tracks connect with the feeding tracks of vibratory feeder bowl to transfer sequenced copper terminals from vibratory feeder bowl till to the end of feeding tracks;
■ Separate mechanism is placed at the end of feeding tracks, sensors are equipped to detect if the copper terminals enter into separate mechanism.
Once two piece terminals detected, separate mechanism will separate terminals into centering mechanism and wait for pick-place mechanism to pick up.
■ Pick-place mechanism to pick up the separated terminals and travel, then place terminals onto carriers that mounted onto indexing table;
Remarks:
For this riveting assembly machine, two cavities for two types of terminals will be machined and fit for two terminals separately.
Related terminal feed, load, separate and pick and place the terminal into setup cavity and ready for Silver contact pick into the hole of
terminal for pre-assembly.
1.2 Terminal Exist Detection
■ Fiber Sensor or other available sensor will be designed in this workstation to detect if any terminal miss because of terminal pick-place failure.
■ With the rotation stepwise from previous carriers, the fixed sensor will detect if any terminal miss, if terminal miss, it will provide a signal to PLC to guide the Silver contact pick and place mechanism
to hold the contact and not place contact into terminal hole.
1.3 8 Station Rotary Indexing Table With Terminal Carriers
■ This automated Silver contact riveting machine will concept with rotary indexing table that drive by indexer.
■ 8 Work stations are mounted onto rotary indexing table with 8 carriers placed onto each work stations .
1. 4 Silver Contact Load, Orientate, Sequence, Transfer, Separate, Center, Pick-Place
■ Alike the terminal handling system, Silver contact will be introduced with full-custom vibratory feeder bowl with dual feeding tracks tofeed, load, orientate, sequence Silver contacts;
■ Full-custom dual-lane feeding tracks that driven by linear vibration drive under feeding tracks will connect with feed tracks of vibratory feeder bowl to transfer contact to the end of feeding tracks and enter into separate mechanism;
■ Sensors are mounted at the separate mechanism and once contacts detected, separate mechanism will work to separate contacts, center
them and wait for pick-and-place.
■ Pick-and-place mechanism will pick up contacts and placed them into terminals after aligned with terminals and indexing table will rotate
by one workstation and wait for riveting process;
Remarks
Silver contact feed system will be designed with dual feeding tracks to load two rows of Silver contacts;
Silver contact pick-place system will be also mounted with two dual pick-place head;
User can stop one feeding track or pick-place mechanism when machine produce another types of terminal.
1.5 Silver Contact & Terminal Rivet
■ Silver contact riveting mechanism will consist of two fundamental mechanisms: contact top protection mechanism & contact tail stacking mechanism;
■ Before stacking(riveting) performance, a contacting and protection mechanism that driven by several pneumatic cylinders to hold cap of Silver contact;
■ After contact cap protection mechanism contacted and hold Silver contact, Silver contact stacking mechanism also driven by several pneumatic cylinders will press and extend contact and shorten the length of Silver contact to certain length to complete riveting performance;
■ Contact tail stacking mechanism will be introduced with lever mechanism to press down as stack mechanism while to prevent terminal deformation;
1.6 Contact Missing Detection
■ After riveting process, there will be a sensor mounted to detect the appearance of Silver contact to check if there is any contact missing.
■ Any contact missing will be detected by fiber sensor and a signal will be sent to PLC control system.
1.7 NG Sort
■ According to fiber sensor checking result, NG product will be rejected and sorted into NG container.
1.8 Final Unload
■ Final OK product will be picked up and placed into final OK product container.
